“The World’s Toughest Truck Driver” (Mon., 10 p.m. EST on Discovery) promises to take viewers on a tour of some of the most dangerous roads on earth, from British Columbia to Austrialia, via Brazil and India.
But it’s not just a travel show, it’s also a competition (think “The Amazing Race” in trucks). Randomly paired-up in teams of two, eight of the world’s most experienced truck drivers will race each other along these treacherous roads as they try to take home the title.
On the Series Premiere the road warriors headed Down Under for a three-day race across the Australian Outback.

This week, the Los Angeles Dodgers have traversed our city on their highly anticipated, ninth Community Caravan — an annual opportunity for the team to give back to Los Angeles.
Dodgers such as Dee Gordon, Javy Guerra, Tony Gwynn, Jerry Hairston, Josh Lindblom and Al Ferrara made stops at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the Mayberry Elementary School, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Five Acres. Teammates also spent time helping at a Habitat for Humanity build in Lynwood, the MLB Urban Youth Academy and the LAUSD’s Frances Blend School.
Wednesday evening, the Dodgers Dream Foundation held a ceremony unveiling the new Dodgers Dreamfield at the Normandie Recreation Center. This is the 20th Dreamfield to date.

Newt Gingrich Picks New York Giants Over New England Patriots In Super Bowl 2012 After Nevada Caucus
After telling reporters at his post-Nevada caucus press conference on Saturday to “take a few hours off from politics” ahead of the 2012 Super Bowl, Newt Gingrich revealed that he is rooting for “the team that beat the [Green Bay] Packers” — the New York Giants.
Gingrich’s presser capped a busy day in the Silver State, where caucus-goers propelled Mitt Romney to victory by more than ten points. Gingrich and Ron Paul spent the day fighting for second place, hoping to gather momentum and delegates going into a number of upcoming February primary contests.
Gingrich remained aggressive and optimistic on stage, telling reporters that he “will be a candidate for president.”
