Bain Capital — and Bain Capitalism — isn’t Mitt’s creation. It was sewed together from the corpses of dead ideals and shocked into life in Washington’s political laboratories.

While I’ve always enjoyed Supernatural for its mythology rather than for its monster-of-the-week episodes, occasionally it’s nice to return to what attracted us to the show in Season 1.

BEIJING — A stamp designed to mark China’s upcoming Year of the Dragon is drawing unusual criticism for its fang-bearing monster.
The stamp went on sale Thursday, drawing the heavy crowds that normally flock to buy the annual Lunar New Year stamps. But the dragon’s attacking pose on this year’s stamp has led some people to call it too ferocious.
From bed time stories to a warm glass of milk, it seems that restless children are as old as the monster under the bed. Why is it so hard to get kids to sleep?

The 28-year-old showed his class by draining a monster 50-foot putt for eagle to capture the Dubai World Championship last weekend.

Gary Woodland is a monster off the tee (he had a 351-yard drive on Sunday), but it is his touch on the green that has him only two shots off the lead in Boston.

Before Keegan Bradley attacks one green monster at TPC Boston in his New England homecoming, he’ll climb the hill at another: Fenway Park
In addition to Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Mothman, probably the next most famous creature-that-might-exist is the Chupacabra.

WASHINGTON — The parent company for the employment website Monster.com, Monster Worldwide Inc., is taking action to get the progressive advocacy group USAction to stop its online campaign aimed at companies whose job postings discourage the unemployed from applying.
In July, USAction began circulating an online petition imploring employment websites such as Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com to reject ads from third-party employers that require applicants to be “currently employed.” As employment websites, Monster and Careerbuilder don’t actually post the ads, but do allow them to be up on the site.
USAction began collecting signatures online — it now has about 26,000 — and put a petition letter on the progressive website Dailykos.com. The group also launched an ad campaign on Facebook.

It is said to be “the most fearsome predator that ever lived,” according to a BBC News report. It is a pliosaur, or “sea monster,” and now its 2.4 meter-long skull has been unearthed and presented to the public. UPI reports that Naturalist and TV presenter David Attenborough unveiled the fossil to the public this past Saturday.
The 155-million-year-old fossil was accidentally discovered in Dorset, U.K. by local collector Kevan Sheehan, who told BBC News: “It was sheer luck – I was sitting on the beach, and saw three pieces. I had no idea what they were, but I proceeded to drag them back. Then over several years, I’d go back every year and find a new piece.” According to The Guardian, Dorset county council has decided not to reveal the specific location of the find, since the area is prone to rock falls.
It is possible that the discovered creature may be a new species, or possibly even genus. They estimate that the predator could have measured up to 18 meters from tip to tail. It is unclear whether this would make it the world’s biggest sea monster, given that pieces of potentially larger specimens have been found across the world.
Lady Gaga is certainly not the first spandex wearing pop star to fancy herself a performance-artist-cum-musician. Long before Mother Monster came Ziggy Stardust in a cloud of glitter, curve hugging bodysuits, and platform shoes.
Now, the sexually ambiguous space invader has his own retrospective at the Museum of Arts and Design. The show, evocatively titled “David Bowie, Artist,” seeks to re-frame the glam rocker’s artistic output as a lifelong performance piece of sorts. The museum’s press release claims, “Bowie has crafted a powerful fusion of music, culture, and other performance practices — one that has become the blueprint for contemporary artists working in performance.”
