If you didn't believe in the luck of the Irish before today, this clip should go a long way to making you a convert. Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell is one of the best golfers on the planet at the moment, but the shot he hit during Sunday's final round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship had nothing to do with skill, and everything to do with some ridiculously good luck. How crazy was McDowell …

In accepting the Ben Hogan Award at last year’s Masters, Barbara Douglas turned her battle with cancer into a defining moment.

In extreme sports, the line between incredible and dangerous is extremely thin. This was certainly the case during a scary moment on Thursday night for freestyle snowmobiler Colten Moore at the Winter X Games. During his semifinal run in the freestyle championships, Moore lost the handle of his snowmobile in the middle of a 120-foot jump. As the 22-year-old began his descent, he flailed his arms as he lost contact with his ride. As he fell, he was able to to twist himself upside-down, allowing him to land on his back instead of his head. Despite his potentially life-saving mid-air contortions, Moore still landed hard on the packed snow and slid down the hill behind the snowmobile.

Amazingly, Moore got up, walked it off. He even pumped up the crowd that had just seconds ago been so fearful that he would be injured.

If you didn’t know, today is National Peanut Butter Day. So we thought we’d take a moment to honor the humble spread, not only for its role in our childhoods and its deliciously rich taste, but also for its nutritional power. Sure, the stuff is yummy, but did you know that peanut butter can also play a role in preventing everything from heart disease to Alzheimer’s?

Keep in mind that all-natural peanut butter without added ingredients is the healthy option — many brands include added sugar. And, as with all good things, everything in moderation: a spoonful may be healthy, but a whole jar is certainly not.

Here are some top health properties for peanut butter:

Many a funny kid moment stems from over-attempting to complete a simple task. And we’re talking simple. Like breathing simple.

Luckily, some of the funniest of these moments make it to YouTube, such as the little girl’s adorable struggle to blow out a candle in the video above.

No matter how hard she huffs and puffs, little Kaylee can’t seem to snuff out the flame. She tries so hard that you almost start fearing that she’ll pass out, but don’t worry, this one has a happy ending.

Men leave women for younger women all the time. But because she tried to attack Newt at an obviously vulnerable and crucial moment for him, the tactic has backfired. The world — or the world in South Carolina — pities him.

More on Newt Gingrich

At Thursday night’s debate, we hoped that the immediacy of the South Carolina primary and a change in debate moderators might yield a different sort of show than the one we watched this past Monday. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a difference.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was still clumsily evading the call to release his tax returns. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was still raging at the questions offered up by the moderators. Texas Rep. Ron Paul was still not being asked any questions. But then came that magical moment when we all gasped, “Holy cow! What dreadful thing is Rick Santorum doing with that microphone?”

Well, it was one heck of a frozen moment. In HuffPost’s Ben Craw, it planted a seed of inspiration. And he ran with it, creating a new remixed version of the debate. And then…well, to be honest with you, we actually asked him to — uhm…tone it down considerably. But that he did! And so we are happy to bring you Thursday night’s debate from an alternate reality, in which former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum tries to “make it sexxy,” and ends up “making it awkward.”

At a moment after a break in Thursday’s Republican debate, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum got asked about Newt Gingrich’s call for him to quit the race. With neither flourish nor fireworks, Santorum took apart the former speaker of the House, citing his temperament and lack of discipline. The event, hosted by CNN, took place at the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, S.C.

Santorum began by giving Gingrich credit for, and then stabbing him with his “grandiosity.” He reminded the audience that mere weeks ago, Gingrich declared himself the winner of the nomination as anointed by destiny. “That’s what we’re seeing here,” said Santorum, referring to Gingrich’s demand that he drop out of the race.

Santorum had a pretty basic case to make. He won Iowa. He bested Gingrich in New Hampshire.

Tiger Woods and Tim Tebow? Oh come now. That's as far apart, philosophically, as the north and south poles. There will be no Tebowing at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It's Tony and the Tiger —Romo and Woods. That makes a lot more sense if you really think about it. Think about it for a moment. You have Tim Tebow, the man who as overtaken Woods as America's favorite athlete. He's the guy who would …

I had ignored the voice inside my head that told me he was in my life to teach me how to love fearlessly and be in the moment, not to marry me.

It was a moment of heartfelt joy and community when the team at the Parks Department rallied behind Leslie and said they would help her run her campaign on “Parks & Recreation” (Thu., 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC). But that euphoria only lasted a few moments as they quickly realized they had no idea what they were doing.

Leslie picked Ann as her campaign manager, and everyone had assignments toward making her first big public rally a huge success. They even secured an appearance by a former local sports hero to endorse Leslie and recreate his famous slam dunk. But when it all came together, they quickly realized that none of it had come together. In fact, Jerry was the only one who came through for Leslie, though after seeing that nothing else did, the gang was of course mad at him for doing his job.

The results speak for themselves, as a dramatic entrance is cut short quite literally by a red carpet that isn’t long enough. The basketball court was iced over for hockey, so the inevitable shuffle to the too-small podium in front of the awkwardly cropped banner … well it was everything that could go wrong for her campaig going wrong.
