It was a moment of heartfelt joy and community when the team at the Parks Department rallied behind Leslie and said they would help her run her campaign on “Parks & Recreation” (Thu., 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC). But that euphoria only lasted a few moments as they quickly realized they had no idea what they were doing.
Leslie picked Ann as her campaign manager, and everyone had assignments toward making her first big public rally a huge success. They even secured an appearance by a former local sports hero to endorse Leslie and recreate his famous slam dunk. But when it all came together, they quickly realized that none of it had come together. In fact, Jerry was the only one who came through for Leslie, though after seeing that nothing else did, the gang was of course mad at him for doing his job.
The results speak for themselves, as a dramatic entrance is cut short quite literally by a red carpet that isn’t long enough. The basketball court was iced over for hockey, so the inevitable shuffle to the too-small podium in front of the awkwardly cropped banner … well it was everything that could go wrong for her campaig going wrong.
