Hansen turns down US tour card

Denmark's Anders Hansen has said no to the chance of playing Cleveland's Classic driver on the PGA Tour next year to keep a promise to his children.

U.S. Open winner Rory McIlroy said his relationship with top-ranked tennis player Caroline Wozniacki can help him become No. 1 in golf. After spending two “great” weeks together in the United States, McIlroy believes he and the 21-year-old from Denmark can be good for each other’s careers.

Robert Rock completed a wire-to-wire victory in the Italian Open on Sunday to earn his first European Tour title, shooting a 5-under 67 fend off a charge by Thorbjorn Olesen. The 34-year-old Englishman finished at 21-under 267 at the Royal Park Roveri club for a one-stroke victory over Olesen of Denmark and Gary Boyd of England.

DENMARK’S Thomas Bjorn produced a fluent six-under 66 to take a one-shot lead over Austrian Markus Brier after the third round of the Qatar Masters on Saturday.
