Arianna and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi addressed the U.S. Conference of Mayors on Jan 18, challenging the nation’s local leaders to become a voice for the people they represent.

In her speech, Arianna called on American mayors to become active members of their communities and address the growing gaps between the nation’s rich and poor. MANCHESTER, N.H. — Former Sen. Rick Santorum says rival Mitt Romney’s tax plan is too meek to get the country’s economy moving again.

Romney, in Saturday’s presidential campaign debate, said taxes are too high and they fund a government that is too big. The former Massachusetts governor says the United States is “only inches away” from economic ruin and the next president must reign in the scale of the federal government. But he says some taxes are necessary to pay for the core needs that only Washington can provide.

Tiger Woods knows he’s playing better than he has in the last two years, and he has the leaderboard to prove it. Woods hit a half-dozen extraordinary shots Friday in the Chevron World Challenge on his way to a 5-under 67, giving him a three-shot lead over Matt Kuchar and K.J. Choi going into the weekend at Sherwood Country Club.
