The Susan G. Komen foundation has reversed its defunding of Planned Parenthood, at least temporarily, but the falsehoods and hypocrisy haven’t ended. An investigation has revealed that at least four other organizations have received Komen money while under Federal investigation, while others have been the subjects of recent investigations, and a lot of the money Komen hands out was provided by sponsors who were also being investigated.

The Komen foundation hasn’t been leveling with the public. Even its apology was disingenous.

The organization is behaving more like Bank of America, one of its most prominent sponsors. Like a Wall Street bank, its using its monopoly power to crush competitors, dictate its terms to the public, and to speak both disingenously and hypocritically to the American people. The Susan G. Komen organization has become “too big to fail.”

It is clear that exploring alternative energy options that don’t threaten people’s health, raise their rates, or threaten unsustainable levels of debt are simply not in the cards at the State Department or the World Bank.

The villain for this week’s “Alcatraz” (Mon., 9 p.m. EST On Fox) was of the bank robbing variety. He seemed completely competent and confident in how to successfully rob a modern-day bank, though his exit strategy and ability to go off script proved lacking by the close of the hour.

But the real meat of the story took place back on The Rock in 1960. There, Dr. Lucy was explaining how she wanted to use an experimental procedure to erase traumatic memories from inmates’ minds and maybe replace them with different ones. Could that be the compulsion that has these inmates deviating from their patterns of violence over so slowly, gathering keys and doing who knows what else?

Back in 2012, Madsen actually had to enter the bank covertly to help smuggle bank robber Cal Sweeney out. He then took her hostage, but she used the power of the seat belt to take him out. Whatever is helping these inmates get by in the present didn’t fill them in on the importance of seat belts, clearly. And she found out about the key, which gives her and Dr. Soto another nugget of information Hauser would have probably rather they didn’t have.

In the last two years of the FedEx Cup playoffs, a runner-up finish for Martin Laird at The Barclays and for Chez Reavie at the Deutsche Bank Championship was enough for them to lock up a spot in the Tour Championship — and three of the majors — after what had been ordinary seasons. That scenario is not likely to change for 2012.

It might not be the right method for everyone seeking a home loan — it requires both a good credit score (798) and some singing and guitar-playing skills — but it worked for one Georgia couple.

The Obama Administration announced a $335 million settlement deal with Bank of America to settle charges of discriminatory lending practices. Here is, in ascending order of importance, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Justice Department deserves praise for responding to illegal bank behavior more aggressively than it’s done in the past. So does the Occupy movement, and so do the many Americans who have expressed their outrage over the lack of prosecutions and sweetheart bank deals. Without them it’s unlikely we’d be seeing a deal like this at all.

But while the Justice Department has taken a first step, the proposed agreement seems designed to do only the bare minimum its framers hoped would be needed to quell public outrage. While it will be sold as bold and decisive, it’s not. In fact, this deal perpetuates some of the worst failings of past settlements the government’s made with big banks.
